Every piece below started as a real photograph or a classic public-domain painting, then passed through our Ghibli-style generator at its highest quality setting. Drag any slider to reveal the transformation.

Nothing here was drawn by hand. Each original — whether a photograph of a mountain lake or a 19th-century woodblock print — was fed into the same generator that powers this site, running at its highest-quality setting. The model keeps the composition, subjects, and framing of the original intact and repaints everything in a soft, watercolour anime style: warm light, gentle gradients, and the hand-painted texture you'd expect from a classic animated film.
The classic paintings are a fun stress test — if the generator can reinterpret Hokusai's Great Wave or Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring while preserving what makes them recognisable, it can handle your holiday snapshot or family portrait with ease. Every source image is either a public-domain artwork or a freely-licensed photograph.
